California CARB approved OBDII catalytic converter

Magnaflow 43226, this is the CARB (California Air Resources Board) approved catalytic converter that I purchased prior to the new California law. I had a hard time finding this.  The best price that I could find was from HOTTexhaust.

MagnaFlow Cat back exhaust system # 15856

This is the exhaust system that I installed on my XJ. I had to cut out the old exhaust system to install this.  Don't worry about snapping off the ubolts when you remove the old exhaust, you won't be re-using them anyway.  I replaced this and the catalytic converter at the same time.

This is the towhook mount that I am thinking of getting.

I really like this because it spans the unibody rails and distributes the strain across a greater area.

My favorite 1" transfer case drop kit, black anodized solid aluminum.

I installed this on my Jeep several months ago and it remains problem free.  When you install this kit make sure to use a rust penetrating lubricant on the bolts that hold down the crossmember, mine were pretty rusted,  one of the bolts is a stud, since mine were so rusted the double nut bolt removal trick wouldn't work, so I used a bolt extractor to remove it. I also used a wratcheting tiedown strap to keep the crossmember from moving, and you have to use a floor jack to support the crossmember.  After searching the web for a while I came across this kit. I purchased this at http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/.

My favorite bar pin eliminator -- Full Traction

From what I have seen on several forums this is a problem area for the XJ Cherokee as far as the rear bar pin mounting bolts breaking off, mine was no exception. The previous owner had replaced the factory bolts but kept the bar pins. After a long search I found these bar pin eliminators, they are very well built and are the best designed in my opinion. You will not encounter the numerous problems of the other products, however you have to take into account that the shock mounting point has changed about 1 inch. When I ordered this kit, the website said that the mounting hardware was included, on my order it was not. I regret that I did not follow up, the bolts cost around $9. Since the bar pin bolts had previously been replaced on my XJ the installation of this kit was easy. I was able to use a flexible magnetic pick-up tool to feed the bolts through the body channels that are open on the 1998. I then wedged the largest Craftsman flat blade screwdriver into the channel to lock the bolts into place from behind while I tightened them from the outside.  If you have any questions please post them. I purchased this from http://www.screaminlizard.com/.
